Details of the Health Insurance cover by Glo and NHIS


Globacom Nigeria in collaboration with NHIS- National Health Insurance Scheme and Salt & Einstein has put together the GLO HEALTH COVER to provide FREE medical consultation and medication for Glo subscribers in over 8000 hospitals nationwide.

This could also be referred  to as a flexible health insurance scheme for everyone regardless of class or status.


The Glo Health cover provides coverage against the risk of incurring medical expenses from basic, in-patient and out-patient care as well as minor surgeries. Registered customers just need to walk into any partner hospital and provide his/ her phone number for processing and confirmation after which treatment or consultation begins without any hassles.


To register for the Glo Health cover, dial *616# from your mobile phone and provide the necessary user details such as Full Name, Sex, DOB, LGA, State and HMO (Health Maintenance Organizations) See list of Health Maintenance organizations here, then buy a premium package which could be daily, weekly or monthly.

The daily package costs 35 NGN while the weekly and monthly cost 250 and 1000 NGN respectively. For more info, see FAQ or call 121

 Over the years, telecommunication providers in Nigeria have been trying to show more support to their subscribers by providing various value added packages to cater for their other needs, this is evident from the introduction of life and hospital insurance by Airtel and the Y'ello Life insurance by MTN.
